Five Fall Activities For Kids The Whole Family Will Love

In my last post, I talked about some of the most wonderful pumpkin patches to bring your children to in the Chicagoland area. This time, I wanted to talk about some incredible fall activities for kids that you can take the whole family! We are so lucky to have a ton of options for our kids to get the most out of the Halloween season, so I rounded up a top five.

Lincoln Park Zoo Fest Chicago, IL

This free festival runs until Oct. 30th, so there is plenty of time to take the family! There are attractions like pumpkin picking, a ferris wheel over the trees of Lincoln Park, and a super-sized slide. A day of seeing all the wonderful animals the Lincoln Park Zoo has to offer, plus a bunch of autumn attractions? I’m sold!

Pumpkin Party at Gallagher Way Chicago, IL

Right in front of Wrigley Field, you can bring your kiddos on Oct. 22nd for a day filled with candy, music, and crafts! The Old Town School of Folk Music will be there to lead some Halloween songs and dances, complete with sing-a-longs. They have a Kids Create Studio where they can make slime, paper-bag ghosts, and more!

Visit the World’s Largest Corn Maze Spring Grove, IL

At the Richardson Adventure Farm, you can bring your family to the world’s largest corn maze. Talk about a unique Halloween tradition to begin! This sprawling farm may be a bit of a drive, but for a day trip with your children it is totally worth it. In addition to the corn maze, they have a zip-line, jumping pillows, wagon rides, and, of course, a pumpkin patch.

The Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival Downtown Highwood, IL

This festival begins tomorrow and goes through Oct. 8th. They have trick-or-treating throughout the festival grounds, live music, carnival rides, plus arts and crafts. On Sunday, there are two costume contests: a pet costume contest and a kid costume contest! They wanted to include your furry friends in this weekend of family fun.

St. Charles Scarecrow Fest St. Charles, IL

The 37th annual Scarecrow Weekend also takes place this weekend. There will be over 80 different scarecrows for your children to admire and maybe take some inspiration for their own scarecrows! They have a separate Family Zone, complete with live music and tons of kid-friendly activities.

I am here for you along every step of your journey. Your family’s photography experience means everything to me, and that’s why I’m there from start to finish. I know we can work together to create stunning, tangible memories for your family that will last for generations.
