With last week’s post all about the beauty of the summertime, I wanted to bring it back to Autumn, and talk about my love for fall photography!
Fall in Chicago is one of the most beautiful times of the year; however, we don’t always get a true Autumn. It sometimes can seem like we just go from a blazing Summer to a frigid Winter! Despite that, there still are always a few weeks when the trees change, and a crisp but mild weather is in the air. These weeks are among the best times to capture family photography! Here are three reasons why sessions in the fall are so wonderful.
1. It’s The Best Time For Outdoor Sessions
We all know how hot, sticky, and muggy the summers can be. And, of course, there’s not a lot of outdoor sessions from November to March! Getting an outdoor session can be perfect for your kiddos to be playful and free. There are such truly beautiful scenes to capture, and natural props for your kids to engage with. Chicago and its suburbs have incredible nature preserves to take advantage of!
2. Fall Colors Are Timeless
Coordinating colors, styles, and textures for Autumn tones results in some of the most beautiful photographs that are classic. There are so many inspiration boards on Pinterest to comb through to put your outfits together. I love to work with clients to create a beautiful and cohesive look for the whole family! I have so many pieces to choose from with my studio wardrobe; it’s such a fun part of the process.
3. The Lighting
There is something to be said about the way the light changes in the Autumn. To have that light captured in family photos is everything. Summertime sessions are filled with beautiful light, don’t get me wrong! I think that the way the light dances on autumn leaves and shines is a magic all its own. Family images look a little bit softer, and more delicate.
