Every Mama Needs These Newborn Items | Hinsdale Photographer

I’ve learned so much in my time as a Hinsdale photographer, and as a mother. In last week’s post, I promised a part two to all the necessities you need for your newborn, so here it is! I know how overwhelming it is with your little one in those first few weeks, and I promise that these items will make your life easier, and your little one happier.

Kyte Baby Sleepers

Zippers can be much easier than buttons, especially if you’re quickly trying to settle your little one. Kyte baby has some of the softest baby pajamas, with the perfect amount of stretch to get more use out of them as the baby grows. You can rely on these for up to the first six months of your newborn’s life!

Kyte Baby Sleep Bags

These are great to have if your newborn prefers to have their hands free for thumb-sucking.  There arae so many different sleep sacks out there, but these have the best fit and materials. Kyte baby has the prettiest colors and patterns, the softest fabric and even offer different weights for the sleep bags based on your baby’s needs!

White Noise Machine

White Noise is an absolute must have for babies in my opinion. This particular sound machine is wonderful because it has a wide variety of sound options, but it also gets louder than most of them, in addition to being able to change the tone of each sound. You can rest assured that your little one won’t wake up during nap or bedtime. From one Hinsdale photographer to another, these are great for on-the-go sessions!

Wubbanub

These are great because the animal attached to the paci helps it stay in the baby’s mouth. Plus,  it makes it easy to find in the middle of the night or in a dark room or car seat too. There’s nothing like that sense of panic when your newborn begins to cry after their pacy falls out of their mouth! These are true lifesavers, trust me.

Baby Wrap

In the beginning, wearing your newborn can be the only way to keep them soothed and snoozing while you can still get things done! They’re so convenient and a great way to ensure bonding due to the closeness. I swear by baby wearing, especially when nothing else seems to work to keep the baby calm, happy and sleeping!

AngelCare Baby Bath Support

This bath tub insert is a miracle worker. It’s just the right amount of support for new babies! Some models with the sling insert inside tubs can cause babies to slouch into uncomfortable positions. It dries out easily and can be used time and again.

Burt’s Bees Burp Cloths

There are so many different types of burp cloths to try, but these are a favorite because they are the softest and  most absorbent. These cloths hold up the best over time after MANY washes, so you can rely on them for as long as you need them.

My Brest Friend Breastfeeding Pillow

The Brest Friend is designed for twins better because it has a flat edge for the babies as opposed to being rounded. This is another absolute lifesaver that is great for easy breastfeeding without any discomfort, for you or the babies.

Freda Nursing Pillow

This nursing pillow is firm enough to hold a bigger baby, has layers you can remove to change the size, has a waist strap to keep it in place, and the material was easy to wipe down and clean in between washes. Plus, the zipper makes washing super easy too.

Medela Soft Shells

These allow air to get to the nipple and let them “rest” in between feeds the first week or two which makes a big difference during that adjustment period. You need to take care of your body, mama!

Belly Bandit

This is an incredible postpartum must-have, especially after having a c-section. Having the extra support in your abdomen is crucial to get back to feeling like yourself, and your ability to move around.

Newton Baby Mattress

This mattress was a must have for belly sleepers since it is 100% breathable! In case of any accidents or spit up, it’s so easy to clean and wash it easily. You can also sleep well at night knowing your baby is 100% safe.
